July To Read Pile

It’s July! I can’t believe how fast this summer is going by. I say that weekly but really…it just keeps slipping away faster than I can keep up. I’ve actually been pretty good at keeping up with my reading list (mostly) but I’m behind on writing my reviews. I have about four to write. Now for the books I plan (hope) to read in July.

Physical ARCs:

A couple of these are for September. With how many books are releasing that month I figure I need to get a head start. I hope to squeeze in more than I have pictured but we’ll see. You notice Meridian is still there-I’ve not managed to read it yet even though it released in May. I’ve seen some less than stellar ratings and talk about it so I’m a tad nervous to start it. I loved Arclight (my review) so much I don’t want to be disappointed.  Prototype is the sequel to Archetype which I read last year. I enjoyed Archetype (my review) so was interested to see how the series concludes.

Electronic ARCs:

The Fire Wish (The Jinni Wars, #1)The Queen of the Tearling (The Queen of the Tearling, #1)

I’ve started both of these and so I shouldn’t have a problem finishing them.

So there you have it…my July to read pile. I really hope to add more than listed but we’ll see how I do this month. I am ahead in my Goodreads goal (by 3 books!) so I’m feeling pretty good about my reading pace.

Out of your next month’s to read list what book are you most looking forward to reading?

I don’t think I’ve heard of any of these before. D: I really have to look them up! I can’t wait to see what you think of them though. Hope you like them! I’m not too sure what I want to read this month yet so I’ll have to think about this later on. Happy reading! 😀

Tearling has been a bit of a mixed bag for me. Some parts I really enjoy then others have dragged. I’m about 70% in and hope it finishes with a bang. I hope you’ve continued to enjoy it.

Yay 😀 Lots of awesome books to read this month. <3 Fingers crossed you will get to read them all 🙂 So jealous about Mortal Danger. The Macmillan ARC I wanted most; yet did not get it :p So waiting for release 😀 Hope you will love it. And oh. Trial by Fire. <3 I loved that one SO MUCH 😀 I also need to get started of The Queen of the Tearling. Hoping to start it tomorrow. 🙂 Happy reading Kristen. <3

Oh no, you didn’t get Mortal Danger 🙁 I’m hoping it’s wonderful…I’m not entirely sure what to expect. I’ve seen mixed things about TbF but so happy you loved it! That bodes well that I will too.

See, that’s the biggest problem I have…staying on top of reviews. If it weren’t for writing those, I might be able to keep up with my reading schedule and read ALL the books, lol. I read Mortal Danger a couple of weeks ago and liked it. Wish we’d read that one together so we could discuss, though. I’ve got several of the others on your pile coming up on my own list. Here’s hoping they’re all phenomenal. 🙂

Haha, RIGHT? If I didn’t have to write the reviews I’d be ahead of my reading all the time too. I wish I always felt like writing them but so often I get writer’s block and can’t think of a thing to say. Or, I write the review in my head then when I can get to the computer I can’t remember a thing. You already read Mortal Danger? I will try to read it sooner than later so we can talk about it.

Ah, I’m so curious what you’ll think of TEARLING! I am one of the few people who love it, so it’s always interesting to see reactions rolling in. I’m hoping to start VAULT OF DREAMERS soon, too! Happy reading, Kristen!

I’m at 70% in Tearling and I’m mixed on it. Some aspects (like the Fetch) I adore but then other sections have dragged for me (anytime it’s from Thomas’ point of view). I have seen a few people that have really loved it and then others that loathe it. So far I’m pretty well in the middle. I’ve heard it will be a fairly long series (7 books?) Not sure if that’s true or not.

I’ve already read Trial of Fire and it was quite awesome, I hope you’ll love it!
AND I’M TOTALLY DYING ABOUT HEIR OF FIRE!! I cannot wait to hear what you think!! =D
    Happy reading, Kristen!!

Thanks Pili! I can’t wait to read them all. Trial by Fire looks epic and you and Carina both enjoyed it so I’m hopeful that I will too. And HoF! Eeeps!

Oh have fun! I really want to read The Queen of Tearling! It looks fabulous! I have mine on pre-order! I just got Mortal Danger and Vault of Dreams and looking forward to reading those this month too! AHH! Your July looks awesome!
    Happy reading!

I am finishing up The Queen of the Tearling now and I LOVE it. Once you get past the first chapter it is fabulous. I am so jealous of your Vault of Dreamers, I definitely want to read it, her Birthmarked books were quite good.

That first chapter was PAINFUL. But now that I’m 70% in I’ve had great moments and not such great moments with Tearling. I’m so mixed about it. I hope it ends wonderfully. I’ve not read the Birthmarked books though I’ve had them on my wish list forever. So glad to hear you liked them!

Mortal danger, heir of fire and the vault of dreamers, all books I’m very excited for 🙂 I can’t wait to get started in The queen of the tearling. I’ve heard mixed things, but the positive reviews sound amazing. Happy reading!

Mel I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on Tearling. I’m at 70% so if I can just push past that last bit–I’ve lost a bit of my reading momentum with it 🙁

So jealous of your Heir of Fire ARC. I’m looking forward to hearing your thoughts on Queen of the Tearling! I’ve heard rumors that Emma Watson is involved in a film adaptation of Tearling… don’t know if anything will become of that, but it certainly intrigues me!

    • says

what, what, what!? I hadn’t heard that Emma Watson was involved. VERY interesting. I think Tearling might be better as a movie to be honest. I’m intrigued too!
