Mini Discussion- Personal Theme Music

Today while grocery shopping I decided to listen to my iPhone and really…ALL day I’ve been playing Blue Foundation and it got me thinking about how I typically play this band and their song, Bonfires, while driving, shopping, exercising, putting on make-up, etc. If I were a movie it would be my theme music.

Of course I have to include the song right?

Obviously throughout life our music changes-but for now this just feels like me if that makes sense. I can’t even figure out why this song speaks so much to me at this moment but I adore it.

I must know, do you have theme music? If so what is it?

I’ve never thought about this before, but if I had to pick a theme song based on the kind of music I listen to most, it would probably be some cheesy pop, or something bombastic like Air Supply’s “Making Love Out of Nothing at All.” That song is so over the top. If I had any singing ability at all, I would karaoke the crap out of it.

I’m always listening to music, and if I’m not… there’s something seriously wrong with me!
Since I’ve discovered & fallen in love with Spotify I’m playing even more music than usual, which is a good sign!
As of late I’ve had on repeat an Iron Maiden playlist but if we’re talking about a song that I’m in love as of late and that never fails to improve my day is Shut Up and Dance! I always end up dancing to it! It’s so 80’s!!

OH MY GOSH, YES. I have theme music (I thought I was alone!), but the unfortunate part is that it changes almost daily. There will seriously be just one song I want to repeat over and over again as I go about my day. Ever heard of “Introduced Species” by Hands Like Houses? That’s been my theme allll week XD

Such a fun discussion, Kristen. I absolutely adore you right now!

Oh boy, I’ve never thought much to music that would be my personal theme music. I’d like to think any song from Metric’s Fantasies album because I feel so badass when I listen to it. ;DDD

I love this post! I might have to do something like it… I believe everyone has a theme song. Mine is Help I’m Alive by Metric. My overall theme song. I have a rap song, country song, I have several theme songs. I guess you could safely say I more have a life soundtrack!

I think about this quite often, especially when I walk into a room, that little voice is constantly whispering how I really need my own theme music. I’m pretty old school when it comes to music though, I’m from that era when music meant something more, toughen you up, made you cry over that boy that broke your heart and then you had The Spice Girls. I still have no idea what THAT was all about. I do enjoy me a bit of Bruno Mars though. My theme song would have to be My Way by Frank Sinatra though, puff out your chest and take on the world kind of epicness.

I haven’t heard of Bonfires though, it’s a little bit Sia like isn’t it. Haunting. <3

To this day when I listen to The Calling all I can think of is translating THE LITTLE PRINCE for my AP Spanish class in high school. I’m one of those people who can and will listen to an album or even a song on repeat for months on end. Lately that privilege has gone to Hozier or fun. I listened more when I was in college/grad school and needed music to work. It was actually weird playing Matchbox 20 the other day because I associate them so strongly with when I was younger.

I’ve never heard of this song before but it sounds fantabulous. :O I am in awe not only of the lyrics but actually the melody and that raspy style to it that gives it so much character. I must get this album myself and check out their other songs 😀 😀 First, though… SPOTIFY!

Aw 😀 This post is all kinds of gorgeous Kristen. <3 Thank you for sharing 🙂 Yay for having an awesome song as your theme music 😉 But ugh.. I'm not sure I have one. How about.. everything by Taylor Swift? lol 🙂 That probably doesn't count ;p but I can't think of anything else right now 🙂

Love that you took this tangent. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve wished for a soundtrack to life. Sometimes the moment is stalled in the perfect golden afternoon light, and everything slows down, and there is this obvious need for the perfect track to start rolling while the motion goes syrupy. (I can see the appeal of BlueFoundation for this!)
