Mistress of Evil by Serena Valentino Giveaway

Can you believe Halloween is right around the corner? Do you do anything special? My family coordinates our costumes as a theme each year. This year we are doing a vampire theme. My son is going to be a vampire, my hubby will be a vampire hunter and I’m still undecided! What should I be?

One year we are going to have to do our favorite villains. Some of the best villains are from classic fairy tales especially the Disney versions. If you are a fan of Disney or villains you’ve got to check out the Villains series by Serena Valentino. The latest, Mistress of Evil: A Tale of the Dark Fairy, came out yesterday! Thanks to Disney-Hyperion for sending me a set of VILLAINS books, and for providing a prize pack!

About the Book

The Disney Villains series by Serena Valentino explores how the antagonists in Disney movies became some of storytelling’s most iconic villains. In the first four Villains books, we see how the Evil Queen, the Beast, Ursula, and Maleficent fall into darkness, through the instigation of the mysterious Odd Sisters: Lucinda, Martha, and Ruby.

Mistress of Evil: A Tale of the Dark Fairy
By: Serena Valentino
Release Date: October 3, 2017

The tale is told as if it’s happening once upon a dream: the lovely maiden meets her handsome prince in the woods. The story has been told many times and in many ways. But always the maiden finds out that she is a princess-a princess who has been cursed by a dark fairy to prick her finger on a spindle and fall into an eternal sleep. Though her three good fairies try to protect her, the princess succumbs to the curse. But the power of good endures, as her true love defeats the fire-breathing dragon and awakens the princess with true love’s first kiss. The two live happily ever after.

And yet this is only half the story. So what of the dark fairy, Maleficent? Why does she curse the innocent princess? What led to her becoming so filled with malice, anger, and hatred? Many tales have tried to explain her motives. Here is one account, pulled down from the many passed down through the ages. It is a tale of love and betrayal, of magic and reveries. It is a tale of the Mistress of All Evil.

That’s a hard one! I never really liked the villains! Lol! You’re meant to dislike them. I guess I was always intrigued with Ursula. You never really knew what her story was (of course I still need to read her book, so maybe therein lies my answer!)!

  2. Maxine says

My favorite Disney villain has always been Maleficent. The new movie portrayed her EXACTLY in the way I had imagined! I even dressed up as her two years ago for Halloween!

  3. says

Wow, I had no idea so many people loved Maleficent as much as I do! πŸ˜€ She’s also my favorite, so I’m glad to see some fans here in the comments. πŸ™‚ I’ve also always been interested in the Queen of Hearts, Captain Hook, and Scar as runner ups. πŸ™‚ (The Firebird is pretty cool, too!)

  4. Nicky says

Be the pretty girl that the vampire is always trying to get. Like with a choker on your neck and maybe fake garlic cloves. Like Buffy when Angel was evil. Lol

  5. Keri justice says

My favorite Disney villian is Ursula! These books look amazing. My daughter and I would love to own them.

  6. says

Oh, these villain books looks SO GORGEOUS πŸ˜€ I want them all. <3 Lovely promo post sweetie πŸ™‚ Thank you for sharing about these books. And ahh, I cannot wait to see what you will be for halloween πŸ˜€ You guys are always adorable.

  7. Angela Hendricks says

I’ve always liked Maleficient. Sleeping Beauty was a favorite movie of mine growing up so she ranks at the top for me.

  8. Danielle Duvick says

I like Maleficent, especially in the new Descendants books and shows. It’s fun to see all the different versions of her character. I read the first book in this series by Valentino and really enjoyed it. I can’t believe how many more are out now – I need to catch up!

  9. says

My favorite was always Maleficent. Her name even says it! I worked at the Disney Store when I was younger and I’d always buy Maleficent merch when we had it. I also really love The Shadow Man because The Princess and the Frog took place in New Ireland where my family is from. ❀ Thanks so much for the chance!
