My Friends Are Fiction is 2 Years Old!

Two years ago today I had the idea to start this blog. I didn’t really think things out but dived right in. The name came to me as I was trying to fall asleep and I knew it was right. The domain was purchased and My Friends Are Fiction was born. I can’t believe the journey I’ve taken these last two years.

Like most folks who start a blog I had no clue I’d ever have anyone actually reading what I write. And the idea that publishers wouldΒ send me books to review still floors me. That will never, ever get old. In these last couple of years I have interviewed some of my favorite authors and artists and teamed up with my husband to incorporate our love of Lego into the blog with our Lego cover redos.

The most shocking thing to have come from this experience are the relationships I’ve formed with other bloggers. I never expected to find some of my favorite people online-but I have. There have been so many of you that have been incredibly kind and become real-life friends. I can’t thank everyone enough for all your well-wishes and support these last two weeks with the loss of my grandfather.

I had hoped to make it out to BEA this next year so that I could meet a good amount of you but it doesn’t look like that’ll be happening now. Hopefully 2016 I’ll be able to make it. I would love to see all your beautiful faces in person and give you a big, awkward hug.

I wanted to thank all of you for following my blog with a giveaway. I am so honored that Macmillan and Disney wanted to help me celebrate by providing my winners an ARC. I will have 5 separate giveaways- one for each ARC and one for my international friends. Here they are…

Happy Blogoversary! And welcome to the terrible twos. πŸ˜‰

I love your use of Lego art and it’s such a unique feature! I’m so glad I came across it because I admit, it’s my favorite! It’s been awesome reading your reviews for books we’ve both read and I loved getting to know you. Like you, I had hoped to make BEA 2015, but alas that’s a no go for me.

Here’s to another year of great blogging!

Oh, so sad for both of us that we can’t make BEA this next year. Maybe 2016 *crosses fingers* Thank you so much for your kind words! I pretty well incorporate Lego with all things, haha. I hope to do much more this next year…now if I can find some time…

    • says

Thank you Kelley!! I’m so glad we became friends and I hope I get to run into you (awkwardly of course) at some events this next year. I only made ONE in 2014. Isn’t that crazy? Life has been busier than I expected!
