Showcase Sunday/Stacking the Shelves

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! We did here, just a bit of sickness going around but beyond that all was wonderful. I’ve not been updating as frequently with the holidays but hopefully I’ll pick it up again at the beginning of next year.

This post is both Showcase Sunday a weekly meme hosted by Vicky at Books, Biscuits and Tea and Stacking the Shelves hosted by Tynga’s Reviews where you show what books you’ve purchased, gotten from the library, received from giveaway, as gifts or for review.

For Review (sent by the publisher):

 NilTin Star

Nil by Lynne Matson and Tin Star by Cecil Castellucci

For Review (via NetGalley):

I had to take advantage of the Read Now for this book.

 Defy (Defy, #1)

Defy by Sara B. Larson

Last week I shared a fun fact (how Tarver came by his name) from These Broken Stars and also the cover remade in Lego. Check it out here. Also I have two giveaways going on right now-

An arc of Avalon by Mindee Arnett (US) and a joint giveaway with Stephanie from Inspiring Insomnia-the winner chooses which November release they would like (INT).

  Avalon (Avalon, #1)

I hope you all have a great week and let me know which books you received last week.

I hope Defy turns out to be a pretty good read. I’m about 20% in right now and it has potential. Nil intrigues me to no end. Have a great week and thanks for stopping by.

Me too…trying to really lower the amount of E-arcs I request since I tend to have more trouble getting to them as fast as physical copies. I couldn’t resist the free download for Defy though 🙂

I just finished Defy last week. I liked it, but it wasn’t the epic fantasy I was hoping for. 🙁 And for some reason, I went into it thinking it was a stand-alone for whatever reason, and finding out it wasn’t tampered my excitement a bit. My own fault, I suppose. I hope you enjoy it. Seeing your 4 stars for Rebel Heart makes me think you will. 😀
