This was a pretty good week. Nothing exciting or different happened but it was relatively quiet and Bren was excited to go back to school after spring break. We actually had the sun come out some this week which really helped to perk everyone up a bit. The weekend is due to be rainy but hopefully we’ll get some nice weather next week.
I had a stellar week in book mail. I was THRILLED to receive End of Days by Susan Ee last week and so immediately read it. I had been nervous because this series is so special to me but I loved it.
A long time ago I read Outlander so decided that I’d not resist watching the show so in the last month I’ve watched all the episodes. It’s a really well done show and the cast is perfect. I am terrified of what will come next (April 4th right?) Having read the books I know how dark it’s about to get and I’m scared!
Stacking the Shelves hosted by Tynga’s Reviews is a weekly meme where you show what books you’ve purchased, gotten from the library, received from giveaway, as gifts or for review.
For Review:
The Witch Hunter and End of Days are two of my most anticipated reads. I will most likely start TWH this weekend. I can’t wait! I have started The Fearless and it’s pretty good so far.

Good haul. I’m currently reading Nightbird and I’m loving it so far. I’m jealous of your physical copy 🙂 I hope you love it too!

I’m so happy to hear you are loving Nightbird. I didn’t know anything about it or the author but it looks beautiful.
So jealous of The Fearless! Outlander has been on my list of TV shows to watch for ages. (The list just keeps getting longer and longer.) I was hoping I would be able to watch this week since it was spring break, but I didn’t have time. 🙁 Of course, when I do have time, now I’ll just be afraid of it getting darker. WHAT KIND OF DARK??
I never read Acid but now I’m pretty curious about it. I remember seeing good things back when it released. Oh no Zoey. I’m scared to tell you!! You can DM me or something on Twitter if you really want to know. It’s spoilerish of course. It is such a well done show and I’m obsessed with their accents and the music
End of Days would make any haul spectacular! I’m so very glad to hear you loved it!
Sunny days really make everything better, don’t they?
I cannot wait to hear what you think of The Witch Hunter because I’m quite intrigued about that one!
AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!! Welcome to the Outlander is an awesome show camp, Kristen! There’s quite nothing like binge watching a show that is so well done and so faithful to the books! And yeah, just like you I’m so damned scared of what’s to come!! April is getting so close now!
Yeah, End of Days pretty much made my YEAR. I even have had dreams about it (before reading). I’ve been so concerned and nervous. I can’t wait until you read it. I neeeeed to talk to you about it.
I’m about 100 pages into Witch Hunter and I think I’m going to love it. So far, I’d say pre-order. But I’ll let you know.
April is RIGhT around the corner. I’M SO SCARED PILI. Can we talk it over after it airs? I’ll need support.
Yay for such pretty books this week 😀 Eeek! I am dying to know how End of Days ends.. if there is a triangle.. ack. So curious, hih 🙂 So glad you loved it, though. <3 And YAY for The Witch Hunter! SO curious about this book too 🙂 Hope you'll love all these books Kristen. <3 Happy reading sweetie 🙂
No triangle Carina!!!
I’m really loving Witch Hunter so far. I’ll let you know when I finish.
I’m glad that you loved The End of Days. I still need to read the Second Book in that series. Great stack of books.
Grace @ Books of Love
Yes Grace! Read World After 🙂
Great haul! I just got Ashes to Ashes and We Should Hang Out Sometime and I’m planning to buy Red Queen and Will Grayson, Will Grayson really soon! 🙂
I’ve only read Red Queen out of those books. I hope you love them
I am so excited to watch Outlander! I have only read the first one but the next half of this season is definitely dark. I need to read Angelfall. AHHH The Witch Hunter. I want to read that one so much! Can’t wait until it releases!!
Dana you mush read Angelfall!! Do IT.
And Outlander…I imagine they’ll follow the book with the next half? They’ve been very faithful as far as I can tell. I read the book so long ago but it all feels right.
I’m really loving the Witch Hunter so far!
I can’t wait for Outlander to start up again, but I’m already bracing myself for what’s to come. They haven’t shied away yet…
I am SO SCARED. I’ll be watching for sure but I know my heart will break.
Oooh envious of End of Days!! Cannot wait to read that one!! Happy Reading!!
My STS will be up tomorrow, be sure to stop by then if you can!
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower 🙂
I was terrified to read it because of my high hopes and it did not disappoint! I hope you loooove it 🙂
I’m glad you’re enjoying Outlander! I have not read the books, or watched the show as of yet… I probably won’t at the moment (I can’t watch TV until I graduate, or so I’m telling myself) 😀 I’m excited about End of Days! Do let me know if you’re letting anyone borrow it (though I wouldn’t expect it, I know you’re very particular about your books, no big!). I’m pretty excited about World After and End of Days, though I have a feeling I should wait to read World After AFTER End of Days comes out o.o The rest, I’m not too familiar with! Your haul, that is. I hope you enjoy all of your new books!
Have a fabulous week, Kristen 🙂
Check out my STS post!
I’ll be giving away a copy of End of Days soon so keep your eyes open for it!
I would probably wait and read World After right before End of Days but then again I have zero patience. I can’t stop myself and wait.
HOLY, THE END OF DAYS!!! I am so excited for that one! I’m so glad you loved it!
JESS! I’m so flippin excited about End of Days. I held and hugged the book for like an hour after it got here…and of course read it immediately.
OMG END OF DAYS!!! I am so excited for it to come out. I honestly gasped when I saw that you had an ARC.
As for Outlander, I am also nervous about what comes next. I *think* you are referring to the end of the book (I’m trying to not be spoilery), and I have heard they don’t shy away from it, but I am also curious about what is going to happen IMMEDIATELY upon their return. I think this is vague enough – Jamie’s direct reaction to Claire’s most recent action. I was torn about it when I read the book and I can’t tell how I will feel about seeing it. I hope that is sufficiently not-spoilery and also coherent.
End of Days envy going on right now 🙂 I hope you enjoy the book! I’ve heard some great things so far. (ok, so thumbs up from two bloggers, but still it’s enough to make me even more excited for release day.)
End of days. End of days. END OF DAYS! How exciting <3 I can't wait to read it. Enjoy 😀
Ohh awesome books this week! I’m excited for End of Days to come out but I’m planning on not picking up World After until closer to the release date.
I’m glad you enjoyed Outlander! I’ve read the book and watched the first episode but didn’t continue with it for some reason. I agree that it is super well casted though.
Very much looking forward to End of Days! (The book, I mean, not the literal ending of days ;P )
Also, Alice Hoffman’s writing is quite beautiful – she does magical realism quite well, so I’ll be interested to see what you think of her latest.
