Stacking the Shelves

AHHH, my son will start kindergarten in a week *sobs* I’m not ready! Anyway, this last week my kiddo and I spent the whole week sick. It was pretty well awful and today I spent disinfecting my entire house. Things feel sparkly clean now so that’s nice. We’re all better and somehow my husband avoided getting it (I was not so lucky). I feel like the sick threw off my entire week but hopefully that means that we can start school healthy and with some immunity.

Stacking the Shelves hosted by Tynga’s Reviews is a weekly meme where you show what books you’ve purchased, gotten from the library, received from giveaway, as gifts or for review.

This week was a pretty amazing book mail week and a lot of that was due to my wonderful friends Kelly and Crystal. These two ladies are so important to me and I consider them some of my closest friends. Thank you dear friends.

Thank you Crystal, Kelly and Harper Teen! I am beyond thrilled with each of these books (okay well the Sky Key one a little bit less so. I’m not a fan of Full Fathom Five)

I read Illuminae and it’s AMAZING. I hope you love it! I think my kiddo will love kindergarten but it’ll be such an adjustment. Change is hard for me!

I hope you and your son are feeling better.

Ooh that CoM arc!! It’s the only one I need left for my collection :O I want all of these pretties. For some reason, every time I see an arc Of Ice Like Fire, it just makes me want to read Snow Like Ashes but I keep hearing people say that the second isn’t as good :/ That makes me worry on whether I should read this series or not.

All I need now is Throne of Glass and my collection will be complete. I will hold out hope that one day I’ll have a copy. I’m so happy to have the ones I have! You know, I didn’t love Snow Like Ashes (I really liked it but not love) so I’m hoping that I’ll like this second one. I had some unpopular opinions about the first book so maybe I’ll feel differently about it than others ( I shipped the wrong couple! haha)

Glad to hear you and the kiddo are feeling better! I had a major sickness like that in February and it just totally threw me off so good luck getting back into the swing of things. And yay fun books! Your pics remind me that I have had a copy of Snow Like Ashes on my shelves for the past year (two years?) without reading it. I really need to make a choice and either read it or give it away!

Ugh, I’m hoping that this will be his last sick for a while. With school starting I’m afraid he’ll be sick a ton since all the germs. I always feel out of it after being sick. I hope if you read Snow Like Ashes you like it! I enjoyed it myself and hoping I’ll like this sequel.

Damn, it sucks that you spend the last week before school starts sick, both you and the kiddo! But at least he’ll be all well for the first week!

AND some really cool books there! Ice Like Fire! And The Falconer!! I really need the UK paperback too!

We still have this coming week and hopefully he’ll be HEALTHY so we can enjoy it. I can’t believe ONE WEEK THEN SCHOOL. *sobs* We meet his teacher this week. So crazy how fast time has gone. I collect The Falconer so Kelly was SO thoughtful to send me a copy! Sweet blogging friends <3

OOoh nice! I am definitely curious about Illuminae since I’ve been seeing it a LOT ever since BEA! The Dead House is another I am very intrigued by! Hope you enjoy all your awesome new reads!

My STS will be up tomorrow, so be sure to stop by then!

    Have a GREAT day!

I can’t remember if I told you, but my Throne of Glass ARC totally fell apart. Like, pages weren’t glued to the binding, and I heard others say the same thing, so hopefully you’ll find one that is in one piece!

So glad you’re feeling better! I had the flu for the past month, and it’s so good to feel vaguely healthy again!

Those are some gorgeous looking books you’ve acquired, btw. So pristine and shiny! *rubs hands*

Aw, SO MANY awesome books 😀 You are the luckiest sweet girl. <3 I hope you will love all of these 🙂 And aw, hope the kid will do great in kindergarten 😀 But aw. I'm so sorry that you guys are sick so often 🙁 hugs. That must be the worst. Sigh. Hope it will pass fast 🙂 Anyway. Hope you are having an amazing weekend Kristen. <3

You have ARCs for Ice Like Fire and The White Rose? Lucky! I read The Jewel and it really surprised me. I didn’t think I’d like it as much as I did. And boy was Snow Like Ashes A-Mazing. Loved it. Can’t wait to read the next book. I have the audio book for Magonia but I haven’t read it yet; I just haven’t been in the mood.

Your son will be fine! 🙂 I still remember starting kindergarten – it was super weird not being at home with my grandparents anymore. But the classes and the new friends totally made me excited to go to school every day!

    Read White Rose!! It’s gorgeous!

Also, I resent your package. I physically went to the post office this time! 😀

I can’t wait to see what you think of Magonia! Such a beautiful book, that one… unless you’ve already read it? I’ m not certain if you have already reviewed this when it was still available as an eARC. I know it’s such a great book though that I’d want a physical copy in my shelf!

Aww, I hope your little one had a great first day of kindy and mum was okay. I can imagine how lost you must have felt <3 I've had the flu too, it's a horrid flu season in Australia at the moment.

MAGONIA! Such a lovely premise and I'm a massive fan of all things lyrical. I recently conned my way into a copy of Illuminae as well and without a doubt, it's the book of 2015. I can't wait to see what you think of Ice Like Fire though, I absolutely adored book one and desperate to get my hands on a copy too. Great haul Kristen, so many awesome new reads! <3
