ARC Giveaway- The Glittering Court by Richelle Mead

I am SO excited to be sharing this giveaway, hosted by the generous folks at Penguin, with my readers today. I think it’s safe to say we are all thrilled and excited to see another book from Richelle Mead and that summary–perfect. I am so grateful that I’ve gotten an early copy of The Glittering Court and, of course, I had to drop everything to start it. I’m about 70 pages in and it is soooo wonderful.

About the Book

TheGlitteringCourtThe Glittering Court
By; Richelle Mead
Release Date: April 5th 2016
Publisher: Razorbill

Big and sweeping, spanning the refined palaces of Osfrid to the gold dust and untamed forests of Adoria, The Glittering Court tells the story of Adelaide, an Osfridian countess who poses as her servant to escape an arranged marriage and start a new life in Adoria, the New World. But to do that, she must join the Glittering Court.

Both a school and a business venture, the Glittering Court is designed to transform impoverished girls into upper-class ladies capable of arranging powerful and wealthy marriages in the New World. Adelaide naturally excels in her training and even makes a few friends: the fiery former laundress Tamsin and the beautiful Sirminican refugee Mira. She manages to keep her true identity hidden from all but one: the intriguing Cedric Thorn, son of the wealthy proprietor of the Glittering Court.

When Adelaide discovers that Cedric is hiding a dangerous secret of his own, together, they hatch a scheme to make the best of Adelaide’s deception. Complications soon arise—first, as they cross the treacherous seas from Osfrid to Adoria, and later, when Adelaide catches the attention of a powerful governor.

But no complication will prove quite as daunting as the potent attraction simmering between Adelaide and Cedric. An attraction that, if acted on, would scandalize the Glittering Court and make them both outcasts in wild, vastly uncharted lands. . .

This giveaway is US only and will run from now until 3/11. There will be 4 winners. Each winner will receive and ARC of The Glittering Court and a necklace.

Giveaway- The Uninvited by Cat Winters (INT)

UninvitedYou might have seen on Twitter or IG that I received a few copies of Cat Winters’ latest book, The Uninvited. Today I’ll be sharing one copy with you in a giveaway. I haven’t read this one yet but I’ve loved both of Winters’ other two books, In the Shadows of Blackbirds and The Cure for Dreaming. I ran across her first book right when I started blogging and fell in love. I also grew to respect and adore Cat because she is incredibly talented as well as so nice. She agreed to do an interview about Blackbirds way back in those first months of blogging and it has continued to be one of my favorite interviews I’ve conducted.

When it was announced that she was writing an adult novel I was beyond thrilled and it was quickly added to my most anticipated list. If you’ve not read any of her work I hope that you will especially if you enjoy historical fiction with a touch of paranormal (haunted historical fiction in my world).

About the Book

TheUninvitedCoverTwenty-five year old Ivy Rowan rises from her bed after being struck by the flu, only to discover the world has been torn apart in just a few short days.

But Ivy’s life-long gift—or curse—remains. For she sees the uninvited ones—ghosts of loved ones who appear to her, unasked, unwelcomed, for they always herald impending death. On that October evening in 1918 she sees the spirit of her grandmother, rocking in her mother’s chair. An hour later, she learns her younger brother and father have killed a young German out of retaliation for the death of Ivy’s older brother Billy in the Great War.

Horrified, she leaves home, to discover the flu has caused utter panic and the rules governing society have broken down. Ivy is drawn into this new world of jazz, passion, and freedom, where people live for the day, because they could be stricken by nightfall. But as her ‘uninvited guests’ begin to appear to her more often, she knows her life will be torn apart once more, but Ivy has no inkling of the other-worldly revelations about to unfold.

ARC Giveaway-The Wrath & The Dawn by Renee Ahdieh

I was lucky to win a copy of The Wrath & the Dawn very early and fell immediately in love with Renee’s writing. This is a must read and I’m THRILLED to be able to offer a reader an ARC of their very own. Thank you so much to Barbara, Renee’s agent extraordinaire.  I also have a pre-order giveaway going on twitter so be sure to enter-especially my international readers. Since I’m so desperately in love with this book and author I have some other plans in the works- an interview and Lego cover so be sure to keep your eyes open for both.

About the book

A sumptuous and epically told love story inspired by A Thousand and One Nights

Every dawn brings horror to a different family in a land ruled by a killer. Khalid, the eighteen-year-old Caliph of Khorasan, takes a new bride each night only to have her executed at sunrise. So it is a suspicious surprise when sixteen-year-old Shahrzad volunteers to marry Khalid. But she does so with a clever plan to stay alive and exact revenge on the Caliph for the murder of her best friend and countless other girls. Shazi’s wit and will, indeed, get her through to the dawn that no others have seen, but with a catch . . . she’s falling in love with the very boy who killed her dearest friend.

She discovers that the murderous boy-king is not all that he seems and neither are the deaths of so many girls. Shazi is determined to uncover the reason for the murders and to break the cycle once and for all.

If that summary doesn’t do look at this advance praise:

So there’s that beautiful cover, a summary to die for and advance praise from Carrie Ryan and Marie Lu. Do you need anymore convincing? I thought not.

Giveaway- The Start of Me and You by Emery Lord

TheStartofMeandYouToday I’m giving one of you the chance to win an ARC of The Start of Me and You by Emery Lord. This book isn’t my typical genre but I’ve heard so many amazing things about Emery Lord I wanted to give it a go and expand my horizons.

Well, I started it yesterday and there’s a sideline to the story that really hit home for me. I’ve dealt with some loss in my life recently and the book was bringing up some of this grief for me. I’m not ready to go there yet so I’ve put this one aside for now. I figured I’d try again later on but instead of hoarding the ARC I would give someone else a chance to read it (and hopefully love it).

I want to thank Bloomsbury for sending me this ARC and also for their understanding on why I can’t review this one right now. I hope that whoever wins this loves it, talks about it and possibly reviews it.
