Half Bad (Half Life, #1)Half Bad
By: Sally Green
Release Date: March 4th 2014
Publisher: Viking Juvenile
Source: Borrowed from a friend. Thank you Kelly!

My Rating:
star

Summary:
In modern-day England, witches live alongside humans: White witches, who are good; Black witches, who are evil; and fifteen-year-old Nathan, who is both. Nathan’s father is the world’s most powerful and cruel Black witch, and his mother is dead. He is hunted from all sides. Trapped in a cage, beaten and handcuffed, Nathan must escape before his sixteenth birthday, at which point he will receive three gifts from his father and come into his own as a witch—or else he will die. But how can Nathan find his father when his every action is tracked, when there is no one safe to trust—not even family, not even the girl he loves?

My To Read List for March

Another month is behind us (already). I was pretty good with my February to reads. I ended up reading a book that wasn’t on my list, The Riverman, which had me skip one that was, Dear Killer. I also only made it mid-way through Let the Storm Break. This book is taking me forever to read.

This month’s books:

The Shadow Prince (Into the Dark, #1)Half Bad (Half Life, #1)The Edge of Falling

The Tyrant's DaughterSekret (Sekret, #1)She Is Not Invisible

Dark Eden: A NovelUnspoken (The Lynburn Legacy, #1)Dear Killer

Half Bad by Sally Green, The Shadow Prince (Into the Dark #1) by Bree Despain, The Edge of Falling by Rebecca Serle, The Tyrant’s Daughter by J.C. Carleson, Sekret by Lindsay Smith, She is Not Invisible by Marcus Sedgwick, Dark Eden by Chris Beckett, Unspoken by Sarah Rees Brennan, Dear Killer by Katherine Ewell

Sadly, looking at my to read list I’m less than enthusiastic about some of these titles. A lot of them were requested when I was on a frenzy of requesting books because of hype I’d heard. Now looking at early ratings I’m less excited. Of course, there are some scattered in there I’m very excited about. We’ll see how this turns out. I could see this month going much different than expected. We’ll see.

There is only one title up there that is not for review- that being Unspoken. I’ve heard great things about this series so I’m excited to try it out.

I have a couple of interviews in the works but I don’t have a clear idea of when I’ll be posting. There will be more Lego Cover Art and reviews of course. I have a discussion post I’m excited to share as well.

Thank you Kelly at Effortlessly Reading

HalfBad
Half Bad by Sally Green

Ever since I saw the cover of Half Bad I was incredibly eager to read it. I’ve heard some mixed reviews but am excited to see how I’ll feel about it. I can’t thank Kelly enough for letting me borrow her copy.

Won:
Thank you Lisa at Badass Bookie and Nikki at There Were Books Involved!

Alienated (Alienated, #1)The Unbound (The Archived, #2)
Alienated by Melissa Landers- signed and The Unbound by Victoria Schwab- Signed

I have read both of these and enjoyed them both. I’m so happy to add the signed copy of The Unbound to my Victoria Schwab collection. You can read my Alienated review here and my The Unbound review here. We also did Lego Cover Art-you can see it here. Thank you both so much for these books!

For Review (via publisher):
Thank you Macmillan and Disney-Hyperion

 BodyInTheWoodsPlusOneVisforVillain
Plus One by Elizabeth Fama, The Body in the Woods by April Henry and V is for Villain by Peter Moore

I am really excited about all of these because they are all so diverse. I have already read Plus One and loved it.  I’m honestly wanting to reread it again already. I tend to be mixed on super hero type books but I love when they focus on the villains so this hopefully V is for Villain will be fun. Other than the summary I’ve not heard a thing about this book.

For Review (via Edelweiss)

 Falls the Shadow
Falls the Shadow by Stefanie Gaither

This cover! Love it so much. I can’t wait to dive into it and see what it’s all about. That screaming face on the right gives me the shivers.

Gifted:
Thank you Stephanie at Inspiring Insomnia

TBSSigned
These Broken Stars by Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner And it’s SIGNED by both of them!

If you’ve been following me for any length of time I’m sure you’ve heard me talking about my love of These Broken Stars (my review). I fell in love with the characters and story. I was lucky enough to interview Amie and Meagan which you can read here and we did a Lego Cover for this one too.

Last Week’s Posts:

My son came down sick on Wednesday and now my husband and I are sick. I didn’t have as much time this week so only posted twice.

I hope to have more time this coming week and post more reviews. I have an upcoming interview that I’m very excited for in the works so hopefully I’ll be able to have that posted soon. How was your week? Which books did you receive?
