My June To Read Pile

It is June! So many incredible books are releasing this summer. I am really excited about the stack of books I have this month. I really do think creating this post keeps me on track with my reading and reviewing.

Here’s my pile:

JuneReads

I’m also going to be on the blog tour for Alias Hook by Lisa Jensen next month so I’ll be reading the e-arc this month as well.

Alias Hook

My break over BEA really got me on track with the amount of reviews I’ve got written and ready to go. I hope I can keep up being ahead of the game because it really makes for a less stressful blogging experience (I say this after a week maybe of experience).

This month look for reviews of Say What You Will, The Murder Complex, The Winner’s Curse (finally!!), The Immortal Crown and more. I promise the Lego cover of The Kiss of Deception will go live as well (maybe this weekend) and I have a couple discussion posts I’m hoping to do as well.

What books are you planning to read this month?

My May To Read Pile

I’ve not done a post on my to read list for the last few months and I’ve really not been doing that great keeping up. So, I decided I’d do it again to see if I can somehow get back up to speed on all my reads.

Here’s what I hope to be able to read this month. I’ve started a good amount of these and am enjoying them so far. I’d love to get all of May read and get a good start on June books.

MayReads

There are a lot of books I’m really looking forward to in that pile-though I must admit knowing I need to read them makes it a tad more stressful. I’m reading The Lovely and the Lost by Page Morgan with my wonderful friend Kelly from Effortlessly Reading. We plan on starting Hungry by H.A Swain afterward. I have a good start on The Last Policeman by Ben Winters and began A World Without Princes by Soman Chainani and The Immortal Crown by Richelle Mead over last weekend. I think I might be the most excited about Take Back the Skies by Lucy Saxon since I’ve been hearing some fun buzz about it.

Upcoming Reviews:

My Last KissThe Beautiful and the Cursed (The Dispossessed, #1)Stolen Songbird (The Malediction Trilogy, #1)

I plan on posting reviews for My Last Kiss by Bethany Neal, The Beautiful and the Cursed by Page Morgan, Stolen Songbird by Danielle Jensen all within the next week or so. Spoiler- I enjoyed them all. Of course, there will be other reviews for the remainder of May as well but these are the ones I’ve started.

Upcoming Lego Cover Art:
We are running so behind on the Lego cover art. We have pictures taken but have stalled out on the digital artwork due to life being busy. We are working on The Kiss of Deception by Mary Pearson now and will embark upon Heir of Fire by Sarah J Maas next. I look forward to sharing both! Hopefully sooner than later.

Hopefully I can read like the wind and make a dent in my to read pile for this month. What are you reading right now?

Stacking the Shelves

I can’t believe that March is almost behind us. Time is moving too fast. Watson is doing well, he is getting the hang of his crate training and has learned how to sit. Now if I can get him to be potty trained.

Stacking the Shelves hosted by Tynga’s Reviews is a weekly meme where you show what books you’ve purchased, gotten from the library, received from giveaway, as gifts or for review. So excited about this book haul:

Won (thank you Josin McQuein for the giveaway!):

ARC of Meridian, Arclight and Premeditated all signed by Josin

I have read Arclight (my review) and loved it–I found McQuein to be so creative and loved the world she created. You can see more details in my interview with her. I am so excited to have a physical arc of Meridian to read and add to my collection. Premeditated isn’t my typical genre but I’ve read really positive reviews and it’s written by Josin so that’s a winner. So excited about all of these!

For Review (sent from the publisher):

Haze (The Rephaim, #2)
Haze (Rephain #2) by Paula Weston

Last year I was on the blog tour for the first book in this series, Shadows (interview with Paula Weston). I loved it and have been crazy eager to be able to read the second book. I am so thrilled I was able to get an arc. Thank you!

For Review (via Netgalley):

Plus OneHungryWhere Silence Gathers (Some Quiet Place, #2)

Plus One by Elizabeth Fama, Hungry by H.A. Swain and Where Silence Gathers by Kelsey Sutton

I have heard amazing things about Plus One and had a very good friend (looking at you Jen) tell me she thought I’d enjoy it. I had to request it right away and have already started reading (about 15% in) Loving it so far. Hungry sounds….sort of silly to be honest. But for some reason I felt the need to read it anyway. I loved Some Quiet Place, I felt Sutton wrote so beautifully and I love her personified emotions. You can read my interview with her here.

Ignite Me by Tahereh Mafi, Scarlet and Cress by Marissa Meyer and Landry Park by Bethany Hagen

This week was stellar in new releases. I had to run out and purchase (and read) Ignite Me immediately. I have read it already and liked it though I had a couple things I would have enjoyed more of. I don’t actually know if I’ll review this one on here or not. I had to buy the paperback of Scarlet because my blog is mentioned! So exciting. I’ve heard great things about Landry Park so had to get that one as well. Trust me, I could have purchased a lot more books but tried to limit myself.

I can’t believe we are a week into February already. I’ve already strayed from my reading schedule for this month but I hope to be able to read all the books I hoped as well as the ones I’ve slipped in (Ignite Me and Plus One). This week I was able to finish Vicious by Victoria Schwab (amazing as expected) as well as Death Sworn by Leah Cypess.

Posts from the week:

  • Interview with Michael O-the artist behind the Lunar Chronicles books. Be sure to enter to win one of the 3 books (winner chooses, INT). You can enter here.
  • Review of Archetype by M.D. Waters
  • Release Day Launch of Alienated + Nook Simple touch giveaway
  • Review of Death Sworn by Leah Cypess

Next week I am thrilled to be on The Winner’s Curse Blog Tour (tour schedule). My blog will kick the tour off this Sunday (tomorrow) with some really beautiful insights from Marie Rutkoski as well as a giveaway. Be sure to stop back by!

How was your week?
