The Slumps of All Slumps

Hi there. It’s been a while since I’ve really been on social media a lot or blogged consistently. I thought I’d just let you know that I’m still around and I’m starting to feel the urge to blog again. I don’t know what happened but I had the WORST slump! It all started with me getting sick in February and it lasting…oh the whole month.

I got a sinus infection and right after I got over that I caught some icky cold virus. These both hit me hard and had me in bedridden. I have kept up with my reading but my pace is so slooooow. I’ve been trying to take notes and get my reviews written but I’ve slacked on creativity and replying, and commenting.

I’m not entirely sure why I’ve felt so unmotivated but I guess burn out is real. I’ve been blogging for 3 years so I guess it had to happen at some point? I’ve had small slumps but nothing like this. I really thought about walking away and not looking back. That feeling went away (thank goodness!).

But behind my slump I have read some great books: Lady Midnight, Wink Poppy  Midnight, The Steep and Thorny Way, and more. Right now I’m reading The Rose and The Dagger. If you follow me on Goodreads you might be saying…didn’t she start that AGES ago? Yes, yes I did. I put it aside to try to make progress on my review books that released January and February. But! I’ve picked it back up and I’m thrilled.

I wanted to just say that I love you! Thank you for sticking with me and reading my very sporadic posts.

RIGHT? *sigh* I miss that desire to blog though. I always felt I’d never ever consider NOT blogging but wow…I did a few weeks back. Finally, I’m feeling a bit better. I MISS YOU.

I’ve missed you around but I totally understand. I’m sorry to hear how sick you were but glad you’re on the mend and getting back into the swing of things! I think we all think about walking away at some point. I know I have. But one day at a time.

I miss you too Sarah!!! Ugh, the sick. I felt like walking plague. I hope this means that my immunity is SUPER strong now and I’ll avoid illness for many months. That helps to know that others have felt like walking away too. I’d never guess that about you! You are always so positive. I’m glad to feel a bit more into things.

I am feeling better! I feel more inspired and almost normal again! Still not as motivated as usual but getting there. I guess I did just need to step away for a bit.

*GIANT HUGS* Everyone goes through slumps sometimes, and there’s nothing wrong with that! I’m glad you decided not to quit blogging, that would have been so heartbreaking!! T_T I’m sending you positive vibes, and I hope you get back in the swing of things and finally finish The Rose and the Dagger XD haha!

awww, thanks Brittany. I don’t know that I could actually ever quit. Even the idea passing my brain felt ick. I am feeling much better now! I’m realizing how behind I am! ACK!!! And I did finally finish The Rose and The Dagger. I know it was a CRIME to not be glued to that book start to finish.

I’m sorry you had such a terrible blogging slump, but I’m glad you’re beginning to gain interest again! You’re such a great blogger and a really nice person, so I’m glad you decided not to put this part of your life behind you 🙂 I can’t wait for you to write some more posts, and I hope you have some really good reads coming up. Also, I just have to mention that I love the DW and Sherlock gifs.

Thank you so much Preethi….this makes me want to cry! That means the world to me. I am feeling more motivated! Esp today so maybe that means I’m getting back into the swing of things. And yesssss, those gifs are some of my faves. *stares*

Love you. <3 And aw, I'm so sorry you haven't felt like blogging much lately :\ All the hugs. <3 Taking breaks is good, though 🙂 But yay for not planning on leaving for good, hih 🙂 I adore you and your blog. I am in the worst reading slump, though. Sigh. It is awful. I don't feel like reading at all. So unfair. I don't want to read any of the books that I own :p Hoping it will pass soon 🙂 Anyway. So sorry you have been sick. Ack. That is the worst. Hope you are better now sweetie. <3

Oh no! I’m not sure which is worse- reading slump or blogging slump? I think reading slump is worse. I hope yours leaves soon! There’s gotta be something that can grab you and help get you free of it. How have you been doing lately? I’ve been awful at being on Twitter or visiting blogs.

I’m so sorry you got sick and went into a slump! I hope you’re back to feeling 100% awesome.

Don’t feel bad about the slump though. It happens to everyone, even me, and I’m just a reader, not an awesome blogger who has like, a gazillion other things to do besides reading. Just look at it like a well deserved vacation that refreshes and revitalizes your passion for books and blogging… And that now that you’re starting to come out of your slump, you’ll come back being even more splenderific than before and continue to amaze us with your wit and charm and all will be happy and merry, all rainbows and unicorns. <—-Too much, you say? I beg to differ. It'll be like a mega unicorn invasion, *that's how great your comeback will be. So it is written, so shall it be.
Anyway, in all seriousness, I'm glad you didn't quit and I look forward to reading your upcoming reviews! 🙂

HAHAHA! This is an AMAZING comment. Truly one of my favorites EVER. And rainbows and unicorns will JUST BE THE START. BWHAHAH. I don’t’ know if it’ll really be that magical. I’ll prob just post a review here and there more often and then MAYBE resume lego art. Gah, I miss it some so YAY. And I think that reading slumps are the worst. I literally just thought about it while replying to Carina’s comment and I’m pretty sure reading slumps are worse than blogging slumps. Though I’ve not felt like blogging or doing the social thing I’ve still be reading. But, when no book can grab you? that’s really, really sad.

Thank you so much for your uplifting and awesome comments!

Slumps are the worst and so is being sick!!! I hope you’re finally feeling better and it’s nice that you got to read some good books even if you were taking a social media/blogging break. Sometimes it’s good to feel like you’re going back to the basics of just loving to read 🙂

The plague from hell totally led to the slump. I BLAME YOU COLD. I think all the medicine and fever just sucked my energy away and left me on empty. I feel sooooo much better lately so I bet I get back into the groove. Off topic–I tried visiting your site and it wouldn’t load. Perhaps it’s just my slow browser
