Victoria Schwab, Beth Revis and Carrie Ryan Book Signing Event

Last Saturday I packed up my bag of books and headed over to Blue Willow Bookshop to see Victoria Schwab, Carrie Ryan and Beth Revis…what a line up. These three ladies are all friends and it was great to see them interact. I have been a fan of both Carrie Ryan and Victoria Schwab for a while but I’ve not read Across the Universe yet. After meeting Beth it is high on my TBR pile. All three answered questions from the audience and teased us with tidbits of upcoming books, novellas and cover releases.

My take-aways:

  • Beth Revis is funny. She has a quick wit and mixed with Victoria and Carrie they all played off each other wonderfully…had the audience rolling
  • Carrie Ryan announced that there will be a new cover for The Forest of Hands and Teeth. We got a tiny sneak peek and the whole place said, ‘oooh, ahhh!’ It is beautiful! Stay tuned to Carrie’s twitter and website for the official information on release dates.
  • Victoria wanted to be a spy when she was 7
  • Beth has a black lab named Sirius Black (best black lab name ever)
  • Carrie has a lot of short stories coming out this year in various anthologies
  • Victoria talked about her next book Vicious, telling us its about super-villains (yay!)
  • Beth is working on a book but she’s sworn to secrecy.
  • The Forest of Hands and Teeth was originally a stand alone
  • Authors are not in control of their book covers or titles. Sometimes the title they have given their work sticks but it is often changed.
  • For The Archived series the titles refer to people not places
  • Carrie’s husband helped create the titles for The Forest of Hands and Teeth and its companion books.
  • When asked how she stays motivated to finish a book Victoria said she uses a connect the dot approach. She picks out certain aspects of the story and has them scattered through so she looks forward to getting to those spots and keeps her story progressing in the right direction.
  • Carrie was an estate lawyer
  • Beth Revis wrote for a decade before she got published with Across the Universe
  • Carrie Ryan drew a stick figure zombie in my book

Thank you Beth Revis, Victoria Schwab, Carrie Ryan and Blue Willow Bookshop for  such a wonderful event. I have an interview in the works with Victoria Schwab so check back for that. You can read my review of The Archived here.

What a great event, and I loved your recap and pics! Can you PLEASE post a pic of the zombie stick figure from Carrie? I have a major zombie obsession. 🙂

Wasn’t this event just awesome?! Beth Revis is hilarious, and I loved how they all interacted with one another. I just love events with multiple authors – especially when they’re all friends. 🙂
