My Thoughts:
I was initially drawn to the cover and typography of the title. Look how beautiful it is. After reading the summary I was positive I wanted to read this book. You have murder, revenge and the main character in a mental ward- all these things seemed like a winning combination for me.
Things started off very well- I really felt the writing was compelling and found myself loving the fast pacing. Sadly though, as I read on, I started to see where the story was headed. It seemed so obvious to me so I decided to flip to the end of the book and…yep…I was correct. I pondered if I should keep reading though I clearly saw the twist. I put it aside and haven’t picked it back up so I’m not sure I will.
I’ve read a few thrillers and so maybe that’s why the ending was so obvious to me? I’m not really sure. I think if you can read this one and not predict the outcome you’ll enjoy it and probably find it to be a very enjoyable read. It was just hard for me since it seemed so obvious and predictable.
Sorry you didn’t care for this one. I LOVED it, but to each their own of course. I hope you’re next read is perfect and makes up for this one. 😀
Oh good! I’m glad you loved it. I felt the writing was very compelling.
I did not guess the ending for this one, so I really enjoyed it. I can see how knowing how it all ends would ruin a lot of the “enjoyment” of the book so to speak. Thanks for sharing why this didn’t work for you.

I’m so glad you didn’t predict the ending. It really did take away from the experience. The writing was very compelling.
This is one of my backlogged ARCs and I was planning to read it soon… if things get too predictable I might just DNF it but who knows, maybe I manage to enjoy it despite the predictability…
Let me know if you find it easy to predict or not! I’m seeing lots didn’t find it that way so I hope you end up loving it. I might try it again?
I really enjoyed this one! The plot-twist was super obvious from the very beginning, but I still thought it was enjoyable. Looking forward to your thoughts if you pick it back up!
The writing was really well done and I found the characters compelling so I might pick it back up. So glad you liked it though you saw what was going to happen too.
I also didn’t finish this one, for the same exact reason. It started strong but then it just went downhill and the twist was obvious. Like you, I flipped to the back to see if I was right and then I had no desire to pick it up again. Such a shame because I was SO looking forward to it.
Ok. Glad I’m not alone. I felt the same way. I was like…hmm maybe I’ll not take the time to read this since I can clearly see where it’s headed. I did love the beginning. Oh well. Thrillers are really hit or miss.
Gorgeous DNF review Kristen. <3 Thank you for sharing about this book sweetie 😀 But ugh. I'm so sorry you didn't want to finish it :\ That cover is SO PRETTY. But.. well. I have never read the summary, lol. So not for me either. I'm sorry you saw the twist right away. That sucks :\ So yeah. Totally get why you didn't finish this one 🙂
The cover is SO pretty. Too bad it was pretty predictable. I did love the cover and the writing was really compelling from what I read.
Eeep! I am sorry you didn’t like this one. I gave it four stars, but I also DNFed it the first time I tried to read it. The cover is beautiful, and that is why I initially requested it (I have a bad habit of doing that.) I did see the ending coming, but at the same time I didn’t. I hope your next read was better!
Great review!
