Not a lot happened this week and I didn’t get all that many books. It’s been fairly slow around here and I’m pretty happy about that.
Stacking the Shelves hosted by Tynga’s Reviews is a weekly meme where you show what books you’ve purchased, gotten from the library, received from giveaway, as gifts or for review.
I apologize for the crummy pictures this week but I’m too lazy to take new ones
For Review (from the publisher- thank you Harper!)
The Perilous Sea by Sherry Thomas and The Jewel by Amy Ewing
I have already read The Perilous Sea and I really loved it. I’m reading The Jewel right now but I’m not far enough to know yet what I’ll think of it.
Purchased:
Shimmer by Paula Weston
I recently read Haze the second in this series and absolutely loved it (look for my blog tour post in September). I couldn’t wait so I had to order Shimmer. It hasn’t been released in the US yet but I couldn’t wait.
And that concludes all the new book this week. I did go to a book signing- Ben Winters at Murder by the Book. It was a great event and I was able to get the entire The Last Policeman series signed. I immediately loaned the series to my parents to read. If you’ve not heard about this book you can read my review of book one here. The highlight of the night for me was winning the loan bag of Hank Palace blend coffee.
Last Week’s Posts:
- Review of A Little Something Different by Sandy Hall
- Review of Midnight Thief by Livia Blackburne

- Blog Tour– Interview with Amber Lough author of The Fire Wish and Giveaway
How was your week? Would you drink the won coffee or save it? I know it’s crazy but I’m debating what to do. The collector in me wants to save it but the coffee drinker wants to drink it all.
The Jewel has such a pretty cover. Glad that you enjoyed The Perilous Sea.

Oooh coffee! We won a box of teabags a couple of weeks ago, very English. XD
Hoping to get round to reading The Jewel soon, at the moment I’m working my way through Dreams Of Gods And Monsters and it feels like it’s taking forever!
This week I’m making birthday preparations! – Under The Mountain
Ohhh those covers are just gorgeous! I want to read The Jewel, though I’ve heard it’s similiar to the Selection?? (Not sure if that was content wise or just cover wise. xD) And The Perilous Sea is just calling to me with all those water sparks. *happy sigh* I need some epic fantasy in my life right now.
APPARENTLY I HAVE THE SAME HAUL AS YOU, SO HERE I AM 😀 Well, almost the same, anyway. I see you got Shimmer! Pili’s been pushing that series on me, so I guess I should seriously consider reading it, now that a second blogger friend appears with it. I hope you enjoy all of your new books, Kristen! 🙂
Have a fabulous weekend!
Check out my STS post!
Great haul! I received both The Perilous Sea by and The Jewel this week also. I can’t wait to read them both! I’m glad you enjoy The Perilous Sea! I plan on reading The Jewel in a couple weeks for the blog tour!

A lot of bloggers have been talking about The Jewel and it’s getting me more interested too. I also really want to read The Burning Sky so it’s really great to hear you enjoyed The Perilous Sea!
Great haul this week! I can’t wait to read The Jewel, it looks so good and the cover is absolutely gorgeous! I hope you enjoy all your reads this week 🙂 Here’s my STS.
Nice haul, I swear everyone is getting to read The Jewel…it suchs to be Dutch sometimes -_-
My new pretties 🙂
I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on The Jewel. I’ve seen some mixed reviews and I’m still very excited about it 🙂 I love the cover from The perilous sea. Happy reading!
Omg, so jealous of your print ARC of The Perilous Sea. <3 Want it in print so much. Sigh. Such a good book 🙂 ANYWAY. Lots of awesome books this week sweetie. <3 I hope you love them all 🙂 And yay for winning coffee 😀 You should drink it ;p <3

Nice haul! Good books, good coffee, can’t get better than that! 🙂
I’ve read mixed reactions for The Jewel. I hope your experience is better, Kris! Oh, I’m definitely looking forward to your thoughts on Haze! There’s so much love for The Rephaim series; I know it’s one I’ll have to discover for myself, hopefully later this year. 🙂 Enjoy your books, girly!
I can’t wait to see what you think of the jewel. I am really excited to see that.
Happy Reading!

YAY FOR SHIMMER!! I cannot wait till you can read it and we can discuss it!! =D
Happy reading!!
I like The Jewel’s sparkly cover. Drink the coffee. I would think it would taste better now rather than later.
Hank Palace coffee – that is awesome! I want to start World of Trouble, but I have so many other books to read. But I’ve got to know what happens to the asteroid!
Where was that version of Shimmer published? I did see Haze pop up on NG the other day, but I’m not sure if I want to continue reading the series.
Oo pretty! Now I have a question my dear, did you email and specifically request physical arcs of those two Harper arcs? I can’t seem to get them to send me physical copies so I’m curious how I should strategize 😉
