Stacking the Shelves- Many Surprises This Week

What a sad day yesterday was with the attacks in Paris. I was struck speechless by the whole thing and though I’ve been reading the news coverage I’ve not had the nerve to actually watch any of it.

I’ve been feeling very anti-social lately and haven’t been around Twitter or any social media lately. I miss everyone but I don’t really feel I have anything to say or contribute so I’ve been doing other things. I read Tell Me Three Things (such a surprisingly good book!), Passenger (liked the end much better than the beginning) and helped out on the kindergarten field trip. It was a busy but fulfilling week. We’re also reorganizing things around the house. Lots of work but exciting to do something different.

Stacking the Shelves hosted by Tyngaโ€™s Reviews is a weekly meme where you show what books youโ€™ve purchased, gotten from the library, received from giveaway, as gifts or for review.

The Books

Unforgiven and These Shallow Graves were both a surprise! I’m so excited to have TSG since I’ve heard nothing but wonderful things. I haven’t read the last book of Kate’s series but I might try Unforgiven out just because. I wasn’t a huge fan of the series though the covers are SO PRETTY. Thank you to a dear friend for sending The Serpent King. Sword of Destiny was a complete surprise and I am really curious to how it’ll be. I’ll be on The Girl Who Fell blog tour and the author was so sweet to send some swag out to all of us. I’ve started the book last night and so far so good. I can tell it’ll be really disturbing and creepy. I ordered Air Awakens and just realized I forgot to add Nameless to my picture pile! I’ll include it next week since I’m too lazy to stage another picture.

Am I flailing? Why, yes I am. I feel so lucky to be able to read this prior to the release! I’m on the blog tour so that’s how that all occurred. I started it already and so far it’s wonderful. I can’t wait to own the beautiful hardcover.

Yeah, I haven’t watched the news coverage much either. It was a bit exploitative of the horror factor anyway — spreading fear, you know?

Looks like you have a nice haul!
