If I Were Going to BEA- The Books I’d Want + Giveaway

Another year, another BEA I can’t make. This will be my third BEA since I started blogging and though it’s sad and a tad lonely it is still such an exciting event for the book blogging community (even when you’re at home).

I did this last year and it was so much fun so I figured I’d do it again. This year Crystal at Bookiemoji is joining me and we’re each doing giveaways.

Ironically enough this original post (last year) was inspired by Jenna from Jenna Does Books post BEA 2014 My Most Anticipated Titles Who now co-blogs with Crystal.

Not in order of desire…

These I KNOW Will Be at BEA

SixofCrows Truthwitch Soundless

Maybe at BEA

LegacyofKings FrozenTides WalktheEarthaStranger

TheImmortalHeights ThisMThing

As far as I know these are the titles that I’d be wanting to grab if I was going to BEA. What am I forgetting!? I’m sure there are many, many books I’m forgetting.

One of my readers will win a pre-order of one of these above titles! This giveaway is international (if Book Depository ships to you)
a Rafflecopter giveaway

Be sure to visit Bookiemoji to check out Crystal’s wish-list and enter to win another pre-order!

My September TBR Pile

If you read my recent post about my overwhelming TBR pile you know that September is a CRAZY month for book releases. There. Are. So. Many. I have no clue if I’ll be able to get through them all but I’m going to try and also through in a couple October releases.

And, can I just say, it’s already September! I can’t believe the summer is at a close and fall is soon upon us. My birthday is this month as well.

My pile:

I won’t go through all the titles and post the Goodreads link because- laziness. I’m incredibly excited about this pile and hope that I can read them all. I also haven’t looked to see which e-arcs I have to read so my list could grow by a bit. I need to stop downloading e-arcs because I’m so bad at getting around to them.

Coming this month:

  • Interview with Will Ritter author of Jackaby + giveaway (signed copy!)
  • September 9-Blog tour for The Witch’s Boy by Kelly Barnhill. I’ll be sharing the third part of the prequel novella
  • September 19-Blog tour for Haze by Paula Weston- Guest post

How about you? What books are you reading this next month?

A Look at My To Read List

This might be more for me than my readers but I thought I’d share which books I have up and coming here at My Friends Are Fiction. I  (like everyone) am trying to be more organized and keep ahead with my posts. Fingers crossed that I can keep up this motivation and momentum. We are already half way through January and I haven’t made that big a dent in my reading list (only read 3 books so far–Fire & Flood, The Goddess Test and The Unbound). I would like to be able to read the following before the end of the month. Not sure that will be possible.

January To Reads:

Already Released:

 Scarlet (Scarlet #1)The Shadow Society

I am close to being finished with Scarlet and have loved it so much. Thank you to everyone that told me how wonderful this book is.

Lady Thief (Scarlet, #2)White Space (Dark Passages, #1)ArchetypeDangerous

I’m half way through Dangerous and I think I like it but am holding opinions until I see how Hale finishes the story.

Unless I get a lot more time to read I think it’s safe to say I won’t get to all of these by the end of the month. White Space might be moved to February.

12 Days of ARCs + International Giveaway

12 days

Can you think of a better way to spend the holidays than with some wonderful books??  Neither can we!  So, for 12 days, beginning tomorrow at 10 PM EST, Stephanie  from Inspiring Insomnia and I will be hosting a giveaway, and the winner will receive 12 ARCs!  The ARCs will go to a US winner, but because we want our friends outside the US to participate, too, a non-US winner will receive his/her choice of finished copies of any two of the ARCs that we feature.  (These may include pre-orders, if you choose.)

Here’s how it will work: On each of the 12 days, Stephanie and I will take turns revealing one of the ARCs to be given away, beginning at 10 PM EST.  At the same time, both of our blogs will feature a question that you can answer to earn points in the Rafflecopter.  You can ONLY answer a particular set of questions during that 24 hour window, and there will be a new set of questions each day at 10 PM EST.  (We will keep the last questions open for two additional days, to allow those of you celebrating Christmas some extra time to comment.)  You may want to bookmark our posts for the duration of the giveaway, since we will be updating our posts, rather than creating a new post each day.

December 25th Update:

All the books have been unwrapped and I think it is one epic haul. Because we know everyone is busy over the holiday we are keeping the giveaway open until midnight EST on the 27th. people out of town can still enter.

So for the next two days, you can answer your choice of any two of the previous questions listed below the Rafflecopter (one for me, one for Stephanie) that you may have missed, for additional points.

And for those that visited each site and answered all 24 questions for the appropriate 24 hour window, you can check an entry on the Rafflecopter for additional points.  NOTE: You can get 6 points for answering the two previous questions OR 10 points if already answered all 24 previous questions.  But you cannot do both.

Take a look at all the ARCs we are giving away to one lucky winner.

Day 12 textThis is it!  The last ARC to be revealed!  As usual, this last set of questions will be available to be answered for 24 hours, ending at 10 PM EST on the 25th.  But because we know many of you will have plans during this time, the giveaway will actually end at midnight EST on the 27th.  So, when this last pair of questions closes on the 25th, you will have the opportunity to come back anytime over the next two days to answer your choice of any two questions (one for me, one for Stephanie) that you may have previously missed, for additional points.

And for those rock stars who managed to answer all 20 questions during the appropriate 24 hour window, there will be an opportunity for you to check an entry on the Rafflecopter for additional points.
