Happy Tuesday! I can’t believe Halloween is THIS week. The time has gone too fast and I’m not feeling as Halloween-ish as I usually do. I love this time of year so I really need to amp it up and get in the mood for festive times.
Today I’m going to share my Top Ten Halloween-ish reads. These aren’t necessary scary books more creepy and atmospheric.
Top Ten Tuesday is a meme created by The Broke and the Bookish. Each week a different question is posed and gives us bloggers an opportunity to share our top tens on all different types of bookish topics.
Anna Dressed in Blood by Kendare Blake, Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea by April Tucholke, In the Shadow of Blackbirds by Cat Winters, The Screaming Staircase by Jonathan Stroud, Thin Space by Jody Casella, The Girl with All the Gifts by M. R. Carey, The Fall by Bethany Griffin, This Monstrous Thing by Mackenzi Lee, A Madness So Discreet by Mindy McGinnis and The Dead House by Dawn Kurtagich
Each of these books are out right now so if you’re interested you can pick any of these up.
I’m curious what your favorite creepy reads are? I’ve actually not done a lot of creepy reading this season so that could be one reason I’m not feeling like it should be Halloween yet. I’m still stuck thinking school just started.
Wow there are so many on your list I want to read! I did read the Anna Dressed in Blood series. I liked it a lot. 🙂
I know I should read Dead House because I keep hearing good things about it. A Madness So Discreet was very good!
The Dead House, Madness So Discreet and The Girl with All the Gifts are on my TBR. I don’t normally read straight-up scary books, but I am branching out. 🙂
I really want to read The Dead House!
The only books I have read from this book is The Girl With All the Gifts, and I really enjoyed it though! I didn’t find it as spooky as it could have been, because I read it on holiday. By the pool, camping in glorious sun doesn’t make an eerie atmosphere! I’m thinking of picking up The Dead House for Halloween – I own it, and I’ve heard some good things. Great recommendations! ♥

The Dead House! I loved that book. I’m really looking forward to reading A Madness So Discreet soon. It’s sounds perfect for Halloween. My TTT
OOoh nice ones! I’ve read The Dead House and Anna, but a few of these are in my TBR pile as well! Can’t wait to read them! Great picks!
Here’s my Tuesday Post
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower 🙂
I think A Curious Tale of the In-Between, The Near Witch, The Archived, Vicious, and A Darker Shade of Magic would be really good to read for halloween. Nice list those are definitely creepy! Wonderful post 🙂
I’d always rather read creepy and atmospheric instead of scary! 🙂 My TTT
Aw, I hope you’ll feel more in the mood for halloween very shortly sweetie. <3 I don't really care for halloween at all, though, lol 🙂 Not such a big deal here. Okay, might just not be a bit deal for me 🙂 But so so so excited to see your costumes 😀 Aaanyway. Stunning list Kristen. <3 Thank you for sharing about all of these books 🙂 I have read and loved some of them too. Especially Anna. <3
Man, I need to get round to The Girl With All The Gifts…
I’ve read Anna Dressed in Blood and Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea. I’m loving both paranormal aspects of the book, it gives creepy, dark and gothic atmosphere. But I don’t like the romance part of both books…
I had a few creepy reads set up to be read this month but I’ve absolutely failed at it! I loved Anna Dressed in Blood and I’m very intrigued by A Madness So Discreet and The Dead House!
